We’re thrilled to announce that KIT4CREW, our sustainability initiative, has been shortlisted in the Sustainability category at the Cardiff Life Awards 2025! This recognition highlights our commitment to creating a greener, more inclusive future for the film and TV industry and celebrates the incredible impact KIT4CREW has made in less than a year.
Launched in March 2024, KIT4CREW addresses a critical need in the industry: accessible workwear for crew members. After years of disruption from COVID-19, the writers’ strike, and the cost-of-living crisis, many crew members faced reduced opportunities and struggled to afford essential kit like jackets and PPE. KIT4CREW offers a free, not-for-profit service that redistributes new and repurposed workwear, ensuring no one is left without the gear they need to work safely and comfortably.
By embracing the circular economy model, KIT4CREW reduces waste, prevents textiles from ending up in landfills, and promotes sustainability. The initiative has donation bins at major studio locations like Bad Wolf Studios, BBC Roath Lock, and The Bottle Yard Studios.
This nomination is a testament to the collective effort of our team, industry partners, and the generosity of production houses that have supported KIT4CREW. From new entrants and returning parents to crew members facing financial challenges, the initiative has become a lifeline for many, fostering a sense of community while tackling environmental and social challenges.
Being shortlisted for the Cardiff Life Awards inspires us to push further in our sustainability journey. We’re excited to expand KIT4CREW’s reach, explore new ways to reduce waste, and continue setting a standard for environmental responsibility in the creative industries.
The Cardiff Life Awards ceremony is just around the corner, and we’re honoured to be recognised alongside so many inspiring organisations. Fingers crossed for the big night!
Thank you for supporting KIT4CREW and helping us create a brighter, more sustainable future for our industry!
