October is one of our favourite month’s of the year (and definitely Danny’s favourite!), and once again Danny and Carmela Hargreaves transformed their home into the Halloween Hargreaves House 2025! For the fifth year running, their spooktacular display was a talking point in Cardiff, and this year’s Ghostbusters-themed Halloween decorations brought the community together while raising funds for the amazing children’s charity Dreams & Wishes to #putsmilesonfaces.
Cardiff’s Ghostbusters Halloween Spectacular
This year’s house was full of real ghostly effects, fog, and lighting, creating an unforgettable Halloween experience in Cardiff. The star of the show? A giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, who popped mid-run (marshmallow everywhere!) but was swiftly repaired thanks to the brilliant support from Marigold Costumes and Jalo & Stitch. Visitors were thrilled, leaving overwhelming positive comments on social media and in person.
Hundreds of guests visited the Hargreaves House throughout October, with Dreams & Wishes volunteers on hand every night to collect donations and chat about the incredible work the charity does supporting seriously ill children across Wales.
Raising Funds for Dreams & Wishes
Over the past five years, the Halloween Hargreaves House, and The Hargreaves other fundraising activities, has raised over £80,000 for Dreams & Wishes, helping make children’s dreams come true. We were once again overwhelmed by the generosity, with donations coming in through the JustGiving page, cash buckets, and a card reader.

Community Spirit & Gratitude

Howell’s School for allowing visitors to use the car park – a massive help for our crowds (and the traffic!).
All the families and children for visiting the house (some who travelled a long way!), and we had one very special appearance by a mini Stay Puft, who definitely won best costume award!
